The Hugh Boyd Assistive Tech Club (HBATC), comprised of high school students, started in 2024 to provide affordable alternative solutions in DIY, 3D-printed devices for anyone in the community that needs them. The majority of our designs are sourced from online platforms, then tested and adjusted to optimise their durability and functionality.
Our Tinkerine Ditto Pro, named Printcess by fellow members, is our elegant and robust 3D printer that produces all of our tools. It delivers consistent, reliable results and can safely handle everything we throw its way.
Our tools are made with Econofil PLA filament from Filaments.ca, a Canadian-owned brand. PLA is one of the most commonly used 3D printer filament because it is easy to use and is a nontoxic, biodegradable material derived from renewable resources such as field corn.
